Onno van der Hart, Ph.D. Psychotraumatologist
Onno van der Hart is a psychologist, psychotherapist and researcher, who actively promotes the rediscovery of Pierre janet's results. He is Professor of Psychopathology at Utrecht University, and a psychotherapist at the Sinai Center for Mental Health, Amsterdam. He has twice had the Pierre Janet Writing Award from the International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSD). He has been on the Editorial Board of a number of scientific journals, including Dissociation and Janetian Studies, and he has published several books and over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Currently Vice-President of the Institut Pierre Janet, Paris, he is working on trauma-related structural dissociation of the personality and treatment model, strongly inspired by Pierre Janet's results.


E. Nijenhuis, clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and researcher
Ellert R.S. Nijenhuis, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and researcher who promotes a janetian approach to psychopathology and its treatment. In 2000 the International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSD) granted him the Pierre Janet Writing Award, and in 2002 the status of Fellow for his outstanding contributions to the diagnosis, treatment, research, and education in dissociative disorders. He has written many clinical and scientific articles, book chapters, and some books, he is a reviewer of several journals, including Janetian Studies.



The International Society for the Study of Dissociation

Dissociation was a central concept for Pierre Janet, who gave it its modern meaning by relating it to hysteria. L'automatisme psychologique (1889) can be regarded as history's most important work on dissociation.
The International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSD) has the purposes of: information sharing and international networking of clinicians and researchers; providing professional and public education; promoting research and theory about dissociation; and promoting research and training in the identification, treatment, and prevention of dissociative disorders.

L'ancienne Société Pierre Janet (1970-1998)
La société Pierre Janet a été fondée en 1970 sous la Présidence du Docteur Henri Faure, Professeur à la Sorbonne (Paris V). Son but principal, réalisé avec succès de 1975 à 1995, était la réédition des principaux ouvrages de psychologie pathologique de Pierre Janet.
